Available Lodging
  • Aqua Lodge - Tucked away at Punta Burica on the Northwest coast of Panama, looking out onto the Gulf of Chiriqui on the Pacific Ocean is one the best buys for a salt water fishing trip in Panama. When one is looking for fishing trip in Panama one is either overwhelmed with high end and expensive offerings, or the low ball bare bones fishing trips. Condor Outfitters, Inc has an answer and that is Aqua Adventures. Aqua lodge has a modern fleet of modern fishing boats, three 37 foot fishing cruisers and one 33 footer , all of which have been built for speed to get you out to the prime fishing grounds found in the Gulf of Chiriqui.

These boats have been custom built in Puerto Armuelles by one of the owners of Aqua Adventures. Specifically designed for the type of fishing found in the Gulf of Chiriqui. All of the boats have the most modern communication systems, GPS, along with top of the line fishing tackle. Each boat has its captain and deck hand that are very knowledgeable as to the best fishing areas to be found in the waters off Punta Burica on the Gulf of Chiriqui, Panama in Central America.

The worlds renowned Hannibal Bank, Isla Montuosa, Isla Ladrones, and the 1000 fathom drop off are a short run from the lodge in our high speed boats. One very interesting and intriguing point of interest is the lack of other sport fishing parties to be found in this area. The area is not crowded with sport fishing boats from Costa Rica or from the lower part of Panama. This pristine area is only fished by the local fishermen and the guest at Aqua Adventures.

The fishing in the Gulf of Chiriqui is a year round affair with certain times of the year bringing in such species as Marlin, Sailfish and giant Tuna. If seeking bill fish the best times for your fishing trip will be from December to April who coincides with the annual Dry Season in Panama and the up welling of the Humboldt Current flowing up from South America bringing cooler waters into the Gulf of Chiriqui. This annual event is the best time for your hunt of that once in a lifetime fishing trip at a very reasonable rate.

The fishing day will start with your transfer from the lodge beach to your waiting fishing cruiser via a native Panga. When you return the Panga will be called by the boat captain via a conch shell horn. On the way to the fishing grounds you will spend a bit of time trolling off one of the nearby reefs to the lodge the boat will cruise the sea mounts for Bonito which will be used for your trolling for the big ones. Also the Bonito will be cut up for some bottom fishing for other than the surface feeders.

Once in the area that your captain has chosen for your fishing trip day, the deckhand will put out four lines: two will be rigged to the outriggers, the other two trailing off the stern of the boat, looking for a Marlin or a Sailfish strike," salt water fishing at its best".

You will be housed in one of the 12 individual cabins, all with air conditioning, full size baths and either queen size beds or one king size. Each cabin has its own porch overlooking the lodge area swimming pool and the Gulf of Chiriqui at a distance. The cabins have been designed to house two individuals in great comfort.

The main lodge is both a recreation and dining facility with its own bar. This 3000 square foot lodge also has a great porch where one can enjoy his or her meals outside while enjoying the great view of the Gulf of Chiriquí and the well kept and manicured grounds of the lodge.

This lodge is not only a comfortable place to stay, with really excellent fishing along with great meals all of which adds to the enjoyment of Fishing in Panama.
